Amazing performance against Swansea Uplands today, they travelled down to us with a big squad and some big players but were totally blown off the field.
Vardre continued their positive rugby after a last minute loss to South Gower last week and put on a sublime display for our first home game of the season against Swansea Uplands who are a decent team themselves.
The match was refereed by the beautiful Spud and was officiated well
The first half Vardre looked in complete control dominating possesion and territory recycling the ball well and with forward momentum passing the ball beautifully along the back line.
The first two trys were scored by Calum and Max respectively both were beautiful backs moves which we reherse in training, the first was a loop ball from callum running off Max and Morgan and the second was a crash ball by max down the middle channel both highly effective.
3rd try came from Josh McFenton with his signature rumble over the tryline from close range. Calum Converted 2 out of the 3 Conversions first half ended 19-0
Second half played out pretty much the same but Swansea saw a little more ball but all to no avail as the Vardre Pressure defence pressed and pressed Swansea into making mistakes some huge tackles by our backrowers Andrew TJ and Will forced knock-ons and spillages.
Our second rowers were brilliant Charlie and Mitchell cleared out every ball to allow possesion to our backs, and Daffydd Roberts playing in the front row today (his first game for Vardre this season) Put in some great tackles and scored 2 fantastic long range trys well done Daf. We also had another debutante today a young lad called Luke Salter who played on the wing he was very impressive had great feet a nice step and good speed he also got on the score sheet with a great individual try Well done Luke
Along with Dafs 2 trys and Lukes try, Andrew Moore and Dylan Griffiths also scored great trys Dylan had a number of good runs showing great speed and deserved his long awaited first try
Callum Thomas converted 2 of the 5 second half trys to give a Full time score of 51-0
